  • Cruise passenger / Funchal hotel: Funchal Marina. Default for most categories. 5-15 min walk from cruise terminal.
  • Private charter / fishing: Calheta Marina. Less busy; more yacht-style operations.
  • Already on Porto Santo: use Porto Santo port for local calm-water trips.
  • Wildlife trip with sperm whale chance: Funchal Marina (most boats run from here; the deeper offshore grounds are accessed equally from either coast).
