Safety First
Boat Tour Safety
Your safety is our top priority. Here's everything you need to know before booking your boat tour adventure in Madeira.
Our Safety Standards
Every operator we recommend has been vetted for safety compliance. We only work with licensed, insured, and certified boat tour professionals.
Important Notice
While boat tours are generally safe, they involve inherent risks associated with maritime activities. Please read all safety information carefully and follow your captain's instructions at all times.
Sea conditions can change quickly. Operators may cancel or modify tours for safety reasons.
Seasickness Prevention
Seasickness is a common concern for boat tours. Here's how to minimize discomfort:
Before Your Tour
- •Take seasickness medication 30-60 minutes before
- •Eat a light meal - avoid heavy, greasy food
- •Get a good night's sleep beforehand
- •Avoid alcohol the night before
During Your Tour
- •Stay on deck in fresh air
- •Look at the horizon, not at your phone
- •Stay hydrated with water
- •Sit near the center of the boat
Choose the Right Boat
Catamarans are most stable and best for those prone to seasickness. Larger sailing vessels are moderately stable. Speedboats/RIBs have more movement but trips are faster.
